Nolan Juaire is a classical guitarist based in Cleveland, Ohio. He began studying classical guitar at age 16 with Erik Mann at The Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Department. In 2022, Nolan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance. During his undergraduate, he studied primarily with William Kanengiser and Scott Tennant of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and had many private lessons with Pepe Romero. He has also performed in masterclasses for David Russell, Paul O’Dette, Xuefei Yang, Colin Davin, Marcin Dylla, and more. He has participated in various conventions and festivals, including the Guitar Foundation of America's first Summit (2017), the Chicago Guitar Competition/Festival (2019), The Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute (2018), and more. Nolan recently completed his Masters of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Jason Vieaux.
Nolan has been an active performer ever since he began studying classical guitar. Described as having a 'relaxed and engaging stage presence' Nolan has always found fulfilment in sharing music in as many venues and to as many audiences as possible. As a soloist, he has performed in many contexts around the country and world - from open performances, community events and showcases, to multiple solo recitals. As a chamber musician, he has performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, Columbus Symphony- Opera Columbus, and more. In 2022, Nolan was asked to perform a world debut guitar concerto with the USC Thornton Symphony New Music for Orchestra as part of the New Music for Orchestra program.
As a teacher, Nolan believes in the value of sharing knowledge and igniting excitement for the arts. Having started relatively late learning classical guitar, he has developed a unique perspective on development with the instrument. During his degree studies Nolan also researched and wrote extensively about guitar pedagogy, and its importance and place within music education. With experience teaching both solo and group guitar from beginner to advanced levels, he he finds joy in helping people achieve their artistic goals.
